Lot 215211:
AFTER BOUGUEREAU YOUNG GIRL DEFENDING AGAINST LOVE
Not sold
Description
Reproduction of the William-Adolphe Bouguereau painting “Young Girl Defending Herself Against Love” by the Spanish artist and Florida State University Alumnus Thomas M. Thomson. This copy depicts an upper portion of the painting, centering the profiles of the main figures. The softer brush strokes of the original are replaced with more solid lines, and the girl’s previously playful expression has been hardened into determination. These alterations are enough to shift the piece’s effect in interesting ways.
The frame is modern and lightweight with minor flourishes on the corners and edges. The piece weighs 4.6 lbs.
Size: 27.5″ x 21.5″
Condition: See pictures.
